Omar Aftab Memorial Trust (OAMT) is a registered non-governmental, non-political charitable organization founded in 1996 in memory of Omar Aftab. The Trust provides educational scholarships, student sponsorships, child nourishment support, and disaster relief across Pakistan. Its core mission is to help talented but underprivileged students pursue higher education and build respectable futures.
Yes. Omar Aftab Memorial Trust is a registered charitable organization and is legally approved as a non-profit under Section 2(36) of the Income Tax Ordinance 2001. Donations are tax-exempt under Clause 59 of the Second Schedule. The Trust has been operating continuously since 1996.
OAMT is committed to ensuring that 100% of donor contributions are used exclusively for children’s support — including scholarships, nutrition programs, labs, and sports initiatives. Unlike many organizations, OAMT’s administrative and operational expenses are not paid from donor funds. Those costs are personally covered by the Trustees, led by Mrs. Tasneem Aftab, Chairperson of the Trust, ensuring your contribution has maximum impact.
Yes — every charity has administrative and logistical costs. At OAMT, these are covered completely by the Trustees themselves, so donor funds are fully dedicated to beneficiaries. This unique model has been in place since 1996, long before the organization had a website or formal fundraising channels.
Yes. Donations can be made as Zakat, Sadaqah, or general charity. Students supported by the Trust are carefully screened and many qualify under Zakat eligibility criteria, including orphans and financially distressed families.
Donors can choose to support:
• Higher Education Scholarships — University students in engineering, medicine, law, arts, commerce and sciences
• Sponsor-a-Student Program — Directly fund a student’s complete education
• Child Nourishment Program — Milk & eggs for malnourished schoolchildren

Sponsor-a-Student is a personalized education sponsorship initiative where donors fund the academic expenses of one or more deserving students. The Trust:
• Identifies deserving students
• Verifies financial need and academic merit
• Manages fund disbursement
• Provides periodic academic progress reports to sponsors
